An "athlete's plate" consists of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, otherwise known as macros. The other part is hydration, which should always be incorporated into every meal and inbetween.
Carbohydrates: Sugar molecules that the body breaks down into glucose, which is the body's main energy source for the body's cells, tissues, and organs
Proteins: Molecule made up of amino acids and the building block of life. Helps the body repair cells and make new ones
Fats: a source of essential fatty acids, which the body cannot make itself. Fat helps the body absorb vitamin A, vitamin D and vitamin E
